The SCAINET Lifecycle: From Idea to Product in 8 Stages
An auditable, human-gated process from idea to production.
A New Approach to Software Development
The SCAINET Lifecycle is an 8-stage process that transforms ideas into production software. Every stage is documented. Every transition requires human approval. Every action is logged immutably.
The 8 Stages
- S0: Idea Intake — Capture and structure the initial concept.
- S1: Triage — Assess feasibility, priority, and strategic alignment.
- S2: Features & Functions — Define what the product does and who it serves.
- S3: High-Level Plan — Architecture, technology choices, and work package structure.
- S4: Detailed Actionable Plan (DAP) — Every file, every change, every test criterion. The blueprint agents execute against.
- S5: Build — Execution. AI agents build against the DAP, governed by the Trinity.
- S6: Launch Pad — Final validation, staging environment, release preparation.
- S7: Deployment — Production release with monitoring and rollback capability.
Human Gates
Between every stage sits a Human Gate (G1-G7). No AI agent can promote work to the next stage without explicit human approval. This is the accountability layer that makes enterprise adoption possible.
